New Years Day 2016
We start a new year with high expectations and optimism about the future. So, it was for me on the first day of 2016.
I had an opportunity to work with Minh Ly several months ago but did not. When I saw image of Minh Ly from a friend, I knew I had made a gigantic mistake.
I contacted Minh Ly and told her I regretted the missed opportunity. I commented on the strong and unique work she and the photographer had created. We had a very nice texting conversation.
When a chance to work with Minh Ly on New Year day arose, I jumped to accept. We started at 8am and finished in the late afternoon, after shooting at 7 locations and traveling almost 200 miles.
At each location Minh Ly poses where and how asked, but that was just the beginning. I can only think of a few professional models that pose with such grace and unique style. There seemed to be no limit to Minh Ly’s creativity in each and every situation.
Along the way I learned a little about Minh Ly, her life in Canada, and her start in modeling about three years ago. Minh Ly’s French accent just added to her charm.
One of our last stops was old railroad tracks way off the road. Someone had created art on the side of an embankment of roadroad ties with a metal image of a person or robot. Minh Ly was kid enough tot pose with the metal art and play to it. She was just too pretty so I used texture from another image captured earlier in the day to make the image a bit more interesting.
The shoot was all I had hoped for and more. Thank you Minh Ly.
